Nix's Nexus
A downloadable game for Windows
Developed in 36 hours for the Q-Gamejam organized by ÇOMÜ Quantum Student Society, this game tells the story of a cat named 'Piskel' that escapes from the lab.
The Story
You are the only living data point, accidentally created during an experiment, capable of existing in both 0 and 1 states. However, the system detects you as a "Bug" and sends a cleaning software called "The Decohere" after you to eliminate you.
This enemy appears to be a "static electricity interference" or "faulty data packet" inside a quantum computer. In Piskel, you can visualize it as a "Noise Cloud" in red and purple colors that constantly changes form, scattering random pixels (interference) around it.
Lethal Contact: This entity represents the Decoherence phenomenon in quantum mechanics. When a qubit interacts with its environment (or this interference), it loses all its quantum properties and collapses.
Mechanical: If this cloud touches the cat, the character instantly turns into a "classical stone," all colors turn gray, and the game ends.
Quantum Mechanics (Abilities)
Superposition: The state of platforms is either real or not real until we touch them.
Observation: The state changes when we turn our backs and don't look, especially against walls. The character turns when looking at the enemy; when not looking, the enemy moves towards us.
Entanglement: Interconnected objects. Characters share lives, objects and characters share lives.
Controls
Use the left and right arrow keys to move.
Use the up arrow key to jump.
